FAQs

Cherish Counselling Practice has a Christian foundation, what does mean in practice?

As a Christian counselling organisation, the heart of the work is based firmly on the Bible. The aim of this counselling practice is to walk alongside those that struggle with their mental health, while caring for each person we support, we want to continue to point individuals to Christ.

As a qualified counsellor, my training and experience, under the authority of scripture will inform the counselling given, with the key unpinning of all the work held within a biblical framework.

What can I expect at a counselling session?

After an initial consultation, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. We can use the time to explore the particular challenges for which you are considering counselling. I will discuss confidentiality with you and address any questions you may have. We can see how well we work together. You and I will then be able to establish if my counselling practice is right for you. To get the most from counselling you will need to be able to be open to change.

How many sessions will I need?

At Cherish counselling practice we offer both long and short term counselling sessions, the length of sessions needed will depend on the nature of the situation, individual needs and circumstances. During your initial consultation we will discuss what best works for you and your situation.

How long will my counselling session last?

Each session will last for 50 minutes.

What if I am unable to make it to a session?

Your time for an appointment is exclusively reserved for you, therefore 24hour notification is required for cancellation of an appointment, otherwise full session fee will be charged.
